The Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee demanded that video platform Rumble demonetises Russell Brand, based on unproven sexual assault allegations. Rumble politely rejected their request.
Hats off to Rumble for being a champion of free speech. It is not the role of an online platform to be the judge and executioner.
And the members of the Committee should be fired for overstepping their authority by acting on their ideological biases and interfering with a private business to harass a currently innocent (until proven guilty) person. This is especially true especially for Dame Caroline Dinenage, the chairwoman. She also happens to be a Tory MP, which is yet another example of the Conservative Party trampling on people’s fundamental rights and freedoms.
